Sunrise & Flare

Decided to be daring and get up early to watch the sunrise 🙂 .. Now this is one very reason I did NOT become a landscape photographer..

The story goes:
One weekend up in Port Stephens late 2009 Paul and I decided to get up at 5am to watch the sunrise. It was a peaceful morning on the sand of One Mile Beach.. NOT!!! ..It was the biggest horror story anyone could ever tell. Blood suckers upon blood sucking mozzieesss! NOOO! They came for my ankles, my poor little ankles.. So in the end I got a ripper of a shot of the sun poking out from behind the clouds but most certainly did not enjoy the rest of my holiday due to the excessive scratching neccessary to ease my pain 🙁

Ok really my life isn’t that hard, but honestly it was so painful. Since then I vowed never to watch a beach sunrise again! 🙂 LOL maybe I will grow the courage to some day walk amongst the plague of mosquitos to get a great shot, but until that day comes I think I will stay snuggled up in my bed until 7am 🙂

Back to my story of this photo. The boys and I decided to take a road trip up to Mount Dog Hill (when I say road trip I mean a 5 minute drive down the road, not a cool 2 hour adventure) and watch the sunrise while we sipped our Chai latte’s. And I must say before I go on, that you must never underestimate McDonald’s coffee! .. I will not name names but the Chai Latte’s have been rubbish everywhere else.. Whoop useless tip of the day! Macca’s coffee is not too shabby!

‘You can learn alot of things from your photographer’ (hums alice and wonderland’s ‘you can learn alot of things from the flowers.. on a specially good afternoon’ toot toot)

Ok moving on now…

See you at the next post!!
elaa!!
