Running from the rain – Wedding photography

Photojournalism moment right there for you 🙂 ..As mentioned in the last post, the wedding day of Tafadzwa and Jesse ended up in the pouring rain. After the mingling with guests after the ceremony we decided to drive to the Botanical Gardens, one of the most popular wedding locations in the Illawarra.

3 cars pulled up into the car park, including mine..5 minutes passed.. as the rain poured I thought to myself.. why isn’t anyone getting out?? I thought, let’s do it!! With my camera in my waterproof bag I jumped out of the car and RAN!.. I felt like I was in a commando move, swiftly trekking across the concrete path ducking for cover in the toilet, then dashing to the gazebo I could see in the horizon, dodging puddles, not knowing if the soldiers behind you were ok.. and mind you I had to throw my shoes out when I got home as they were totalled from the wet lol.

It was quite fun getting saturated in the wet on the Saturday afternoon.. When I got under the duck pond gazebo I stood there with my camera watching the bride and groom dash over underneath a small black umbrella.

I thought, are you serious? This shot has been handed to me! lol With my shoulders ready for the perfect moment I couldn’t help but laugh at them giggling to each other about their struggle to stay dry underneath a plastic sheet.

1 minute later they arrived at the gazebo, I wore out my shutter button hoping to freeze the perfect moment. And here you go…

More images are coming, you can find them on my FaceBook group, and if you are one of those people who socialise properly in today’s society and don’t have FaceBook, my images are on public so no profile is necessary to view them. My excuse is I use FaceBook for ‘marketing purposes’ hehe

Your wedding photographer, Ela.
